A Vlog?! No Way. [Week 4]

Hey guys!  This week I will present everyone with a video blog, also known as a blog. I apologize that it is not on vimeo, for the past four attempts had something with the connection going wrong, so I gave up and went to upload this to youtube.  I shall try vimeo again and if it begins working again, I will re-update this post with the vimeo. The link below is a link to one of my favorite violin pieces of all time:

Bach - Concerto for Two Violins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4LFjuWvwzw

  1. I love your vlog! I like how lighthearted you are in sharing your experience up to this point. It really shows your passion and what you feel you have been gaining from this entire learning process. I especially enjoy how you acknowledge the deeper meaning behind what you've done. Looking forward to your Ted Talk!

  2. Christy Christy Christy! I love your vlog! You created so much interest just by your voice and side comments that made me chuckle. I like how you played your violin for us and added the humor because it made it more fun to listen to! I too played violin and used the Suzuki books so I know exactly what you're talking about! Great job!

  3. Hi Christy,
Awesome job on your TED Talk! I thought your short rendition of Swan Lake was pretty good (even though you told us otherwise). Your use of the Suzuki books actually took me back a few years because I used to use them when I played cello. However, are you planning to keep learning violin in the future? I think you said something like that during the Q&A session after your talk but I wasn't entirely sure. Other than that, nice job and good luck with the last part of your project!

    1. Sorry for such a late reply but yes I am planning to continue playing the violin. Hopefully I'll do a little better after having several months of practice.

  4. Yoooo Bach Concerto for Two Violins!!! That's a classic. (ha I didn't even intend that pun)
I'm so proud of you for doing all of this work! I'm not sure if everyone understands how hard it is to play violin and make it sound good because of the darn squeaky E string and the difficulty of having the pitch fluctuate.
Speaking of pitch, did you use tape for fingerings? I used tape because I have no fundamental musical talent and when I started out, I was basically: "Lol what even is this pitch you're talking about?" But you have perfect pitch, so it probably bothered you every time you played a note slighty off-pitch. You have a lot of musical talent, so you probably set high goals for yourself. But I'm glad to see that you brushed it off and now show a lot more confidence in your work!
You should be really proud of yourself! Good job!
And before I graduate, I WILL play Bach Concerto for Two Violins with you, so be prepared! >:D
